This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee a portfolio of states/territories and Territory Managers in alignment with the company's goals.
• Increase premium volume while maintaining profitable loss ratios.
• Meet sales and production targets through both new and existing agency partnerships.
• Ensure the effective implementation of the company's sales strategy.
• Provide guidance, coaching, performance management, and support to Territory Sales Managers.
• Collaborate with the Sales Director and cross-functional leadership teams.
• Travel frequently across Texas to foster agency relationships, team initiatives, and business growth.
• Recruit, onboard, mentor, develop, and oversee team members.
• Set performance expectations and hold Territory Sales Managers accountable for results.
• Conduct individual meetings, performance evaluations, territory business assessments, field visits, and ride-alongs.
• Identify training and development needs and create capability enhancement plans.
• Manage travel and other expenses within budget constraints.
• Keep track of competitor activities, market trends, regulatory changes, and shifts in independent agency distribution.
• Create and implement sales strategies that align with company objectives and underwriting guidelines.
• Monitor production levels, new business acquisition, retention rates, loss ratios, and other critical performance metrics.
• Aid in research, market analysis, annual planning, budgeting, sales forecasting, and business strategy development.
• Formulate territory-specific business plans and strategies in partnership with Territory Sales Managers.
• Analyze sales reports and performance data to uncover trends, opportunities, and necessary corrective measures.
• Assist in developing new agency relationships and distribution channels.
• Strengthen connections with key agencies and producers.
• Participate in producer meetings and conference calls, share insights on competitors, assist with training, attend industry events, and act as the primary liaison for large regional agency groups.
• Serve as a point of escalation for significant agency or producer challenges.
• Manage agency appointments, terminations, and updates.
• Implement initiatives to enhance loss ratios, retention, quote volumes, sales conversion, and brand awareness.
• Collaborate with Underwriting and work alongside Claims, Marketing, Product, Operations, and other departments.
• Communicate company initiatives, programs, and strategic priorities to the Territory Sales Manager team.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in insurance sales, preferably in personal auto or non-standard personal auto.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience managing, coaching, or leading sales teams.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and business development goals.
• Strong knowledge of independent insurance agency distribution.
• In-depth understanding of the Texas insurance market.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout Texas.
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
• Preferred: Experience specifically in non-standard personal auto insurance.
• Preferred: Established relationships with Texas independent insurance agencies and producers.
• Preferred: Experience managing sales professionals across various locations.
• Preferred: Relevant insurance designations such as CIC, CPCU, or similar.
