
Regional Sales Manager – National Accounts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Increase revenue for the Police Division by creating and overseeing national accounts.
• Transform open-market possibilities into additional booked business while safeguarding and growing the current state-agency base.
• Take ownership of the national-account strategy for State Police agencies; open new states and enhance relationships with already-converted agencies.
• Develop and implement annual business plans for State Police, OEM, GSA/Federal Agencies, Military Police and base security, as well as National Outfitters.
• Meet designated revenue and gross-profit objectives, including incremental contributions from OEM, GSA, Military, and Outfitter channels.
• Cultivate direct relationships with agency fleet leadership, OEM police-program managers, GSA contracting officers, and national outfitter purchasing teams.
• Collaborate with regional and sales managers, Marketing, Product, and Customer Support on strategies, evaluations, and conversions.
• Partner with other divisions of Federal Signal on military-base opportunities for Police/Federal and Fire prospects.
• Monitor pipeline, win/loss metrics, capture rate, and replacement-cycle timing; report progress against the three-year national-account forecast.
• Represent Federal Signal during agency visits, OEM program evaluations, and industry events.
• Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Director of Sales.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of sales experience in emergency vehicle equipment, warning lights, public safety, or related safety & security sectors.
• Demonstrated success in selling to state/federal agencies, OEMs, or national accounts.
• Familiarity with Federal Signal and competitive products (such as Whelen, SoundOff, and others), including their features, customer advantages, and competitive positioning.
• Military and State or Government experience is highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel at least 60% for national coverage.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong skills in planning, forecasting, and managing major accounts.
• Capability to work independently as an individual contributor while coordinating with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations internally.
