This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee, cultivate, and enhance a high-performing, patient-focused field sales team.
• Formulate and implement business strategies for specified products, portfolios, and markets.
• Offer strategic guidance to frontline field sales leaders regarding performance, coaching, talent development, compliance, and execution.
• Propel a customer-centric field strategy that integrates the viewpoints of healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Patient Services, Analytics, Training, Compliance, and other departments.
• Take ownership of national and/or regional business performance, sales execution, resource allocation, expense management, and budgeting.
• Improve field efficiency and optimize resource distribution across care sites, customer segments, and specialty distribution channels.
• Create and execute national sales goals, incentive compensation programs, business strategies, and operational plans.
• Establish enterprise relationships and ensure alignment and execution of significant initiatives across functions.
• Maintain ethical and compliance standards in field operations and customer engagements.
• Contribute to strategic planning for field force efficiency, targeting, incentive compensation, forecasting, resource deployment, and execution.
• Encourage accountability, collaboration, innovation, inclusivity, and commitment to patients and communities.
• Lead initiatives for organizational change and the implementation of evolving business strategies, operating models, capabilities, and field execution methodologies.
• Foster engagement, organizational efficiency, and a culture of high performance.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• BS/BA degree AND 17+ years of progressive leadership experience in specialty pharmaceutical or biotech sales management.
• Significant field sales management and product launch experience, leading and developing others in highly complex and competitive settings.
• Preferred experience managing a regional specialty sales force.
• Experience in building/expanding and leading a pharmaceutical/biotech sales force during periods of rapid growth, especially in specialty pharmaceuticals, rare disease, endocrinology, psychiatry, or neurology.
• MBA preferred AND 15+ years of related professional experience.
• PhD preferred AND 12+ years of related professional experience.
• Capability to operate in intricate commercial environments involving diverse care settings, specialty pharmacy fulfillment, long-term care, and integrated delivery networks.
• Proven track record of establishing and achieving challenging business goals.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop frontline field sales leaders and teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of industry standards, customer segments, specialty product distribution, reimbursement, and market access principles.
• Strong grasp of commercial execution within specialty pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
• Results-oriented mindset, thriving in a fast-paced, high-energy atmosphere.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving history, and ability to drive a motor vehicle are required.
• In-depth knowledge of specialty pharmaceutical commercialization, field execution, customer engagement, market access dynamics, specialty distribution channels, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to attract, develop, retain, and motivate top talent.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing abilities.
• Strong managerial skills with a proven record of coaching and developing both direct and indirect reports.
