This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Oversee, develop, and implement the commercial strategy for Digital Pathology and Computational Pathology in the region.
• Propel sustainable revenue growth, profitable market expansion, and enhance customer engagement with Leica Biosystems’ digital ecosystem.
• Supervise Digital Pathology Sales Specialists and Solution Architects.
• Convert market insights and client requirements into strategic growth priorities, sales strategies, and measurable key performance indicators.
• Manage intricate, multi-stakeholder opportunities.
• Collaborate with Commercial Development, Marketing, Service, Customer Success, and Applications teams.
• Own and execute the regional growth plan, meeting or surpassing quarterly and annual revenue and market share objectives.
• Cultivate executive-level relationships within healthcare systems, pathology networks, and laboratories.
• Design and implement market development and competitive displacement strategies.
• Act as the executive sponsor for key opportunities, guiding customer discovery, workflow evaluations, solution design, value proposition development, business case formulation, negotiation, and implementation planning.
• Manage the sales funnel, conduct monthly revenue forecasts, and uphold commercial standards within Salesforce.com.
• Work collaboratively across functions to ensure that solutions are clinically relevant, operationally feasible, and geared towards delivering customer value.
• Transform market intelligence, competitive landscapes, and customer insights into regional priorities, resource allocations, and growth initiatives.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain high-performing sales associates.
• Mentor and develop Digital Pathology Sales Specialists and Solution Architects.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, healthcare, engineering, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of pertinent sales experience.
• Proven track record in achieving revenue growth and strategic account development in healthcare, diagnostics, medical technology, digital pathology, medical imaging, healthcare IT, or a related life sciences sector.
• Experience in capital equipment or complex solution sales involving clinical, operational, technical, procurement, and executive-level decision-makers.
• Expertise in contract negotiation and high-level sales within a matrixed environment.
• Experience in leading, coaching, or managing sales teams across Japan or in a geographically dispersed region.
• Familiarity with Digital Pathology ecosystems, such as workflow digitization, image management systems, laboratory informatics, AI-enabled diagnostics, or Computational Pathology solutions is highly advantageous.
• Strong command of the English language, both spoken and written, is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Salesforce.com or any other customer relationship management platform.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Willingness to travel 50% to 75%, including overnight trips for regional coverage and company meetings.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Previous experience in establishing senior relationships within major strategic accounts is advantageous.
• Experience in leading enterprise digital transformation, workflow change management, or adoption programs in pathology or laboratory settings is a plus.
• Prior experience in commercializing AI-enabled diagnostics, image analysis, or Computational Pathology solutions is a plus.
