This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Create, implement, and carry out sales strategies and tactics for company products and aftermarket services.
• Sell through direct sales channels and manufacturer representatives to identified key and target accounts.
• Oversee opportunity creation, lead qualification, product selection, proposal generation, follow-up, and new business acquisition.
• Cultivate direct business relationships with manufacturers’ representatives and develop market penetration strategies.
• Manage territory representatives, including forecasting, crafting business plans, and following up on open opportunities.
• Travel to meet with customers and prospects to establish relationships, identify opportunities, and solicit inquiries or orders.
• Acquire knowledge of customers’ processes, organizations, and businesses to achieve a competitive edge in sales.
• Evaluate customer RFQs and assist in making bid/no-bid decisions.
• Monitor quotation activities, profitability, pricing trends, and success rates of quotations.
• Maintain and assist with sales team quotation tracking systems.
• Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations to decision-makers at customer organizations.
• Follow up on and assess inquiries regarding aftermarket parts and services for Copes Vulcan valves, desuperheaters, steam-conditioning products, and field services.
• Bachelor's degree with five to seven years of relevant experience and/or training, or a comparable combination of education and experience in the power/light and heavy industrial sectors.
• 3 to 5 years of sales and/or sales management experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with severe service and general service control valve applications.
• Knowledge of desuperheating and steam conditioning applications for power generation and co-generation.
• Experience with steam conditioning and turbine bypass applications in power and co-generation settings.
• Proficiency in reviewing customer-provided specifications, P&IDs, and data sheets.
• Ability to use sizing programs effectively.
• Experience in conducting project review meetings and traveling to suppliers, customers, plants, and other divisions.
• Competence in delivering presentations and status reports.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong skills in mathematics and engineering, with exposure to quality tools and engineering principles.
• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
• Ability to apply basic mathematics and resolve practical problems.
• Skill in interpreting written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions.
