This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Develop, implement, and execute strategies and tactics for selling company products and aftermarket services.
• Utilize direct sales channels and manufacturer representatives to engage key and target accounts.
• Oversee representatives within the territory, including forecasting, business planning, and following up on open opportunities.
• Identify and create opportunities, qualify leads, select products, generate proposals, and secure new business.
• Build direct business and representative relationships while strategizing to penetrate OEMs, architectural engineers, end users, and direct markets.
• Travel extensively throughout the Eastern US to foster relationships, explore opportunities, and solicit inquiries or orders from customers and prospects.
• Gain a competitive edge by developing an understanding of customers’ processes, organizations, and businesses.
• Maintain connections with manufacturers’ representatives and facilitate transactions effectively.
• Contribute to customer RFQ reviews and help make bid/no-bid decisions.
• Monitor quotation activity, profitability, pricing trends, and success ratios of quotations.
• Support and maintain sales quotation tracking systems.
• Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations to decision makers within customer organizations.
• Pursue and assess inquiries regarding aftermarket parts and services for Copes Vulcan valves, desuperheaters, steam conditioning products, and field services.
• A Bachelor's degree along with five to seven years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the power/light and heavy industrial markets.
• A preferred 3 - 5 years of experience in sales and/or sales management.
• Familiarity with severe service and general service control valve applications.
• Knowledge of desuperheating and steam conditioning applications for power and co-generation.
• Experience with steam conditioning and turbine bypass applications in power and co-gen environments.
• Ability to review customer-supplied specifications, P&IDs, and data sheets, applying them to equipment offerings.
• Proficiency in using sizing programs.
• Experience conducting project review meetings and traveling to suppliers, customers, plants, and other divisions.
• Skill in delivering presentations and status reports.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong mathematical and engineering skills, with familiarity with quality tools and engineering principles.
• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Problem-solving skills with minimal standardization.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
