This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +3 more states.
• Lead, recruit, coach, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of Account Specialists.
• Establish clear objectives for the team and foster professional development.
• Oversee the execution and enhancement of Frontiers' North America sales strategy.
• Manage strategic accounts, territories, and ensure sustainable revenue growth.
• Identify and create new business opportunities.
• Lead intricate, high-value negotiations involving institutions and consortia.
• Develop relationships with universities, academic libraries, consortia, research organizations, funders, and senior academic stakeholders.
• Drive regional revenue targets, sales forecasting, pipeline management, reporting, and accountability towards organizational objectives.
• Analyze customer, market, and competitive insights to uncover opportunities and guide sales, product, and strategic development.
• Collaborate with Account Development, Marketing, Public Affairs, Product, Customer Experience, and Publishing teams.
• Maximize customer value, retention, and foster long-term growth.
• Represent Frontiers at conferences, workshops, industry events, and within academic and library communities.
• Enhance account strategies, sales processes, and collaborative methods across the region.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or a comparable commercial setting.
• Ideally experienced in scholarly publishing, higher education, edtech, or research services.
• Demonstrated success in achieving or surpassing sales targets and cultivating significant new business opportunities.
• Experience in leading, coaching, and nurturing high-performing sales teams.
• Proven ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders, including academic leaders, universities, libraries, consortia, and research organizations.
• Experience in managing complex B2B negotiations and institutional contracts.
• Strong comprehension of the scholarly publishing and Open Access landscape along with its key stakeholders.
• Experience in strategic account planning, consultative selling, and establishing long-term institutional partnerships.
• LAMP experience is a plus.
• Strong commercial, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Proficient in using CRM platforms such as Salesforce for account and pipeline management.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, collaborative, and solution-focused approach, with the ability to make decisions and advance initiatives independently.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25–50%, including customer visits, conferences, and company events across North America and internationally.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
