This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Oversee sales execution in the Capital Region.
• Cultivate field talent and enhance market strategy.
• Convert franchise priorities into actionable sales strategies, field plans, and initiatives that achieve both short- and long-term objectives.
• Ensure compliance with AbbVie standards, franchise goals, and stakeholder expectations.
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-caliber talent.
• Foster a high-performing team and organizational culture.
• Exhibit comprehensive market knowledge across sectors, geography, and franchises, including managed markets and payer dynamics.
• Transform quantitative and qualitative insights into strategic planning, field execution, and decision-making processes.
• Coach, mentor, and support leadership teams, regional teams, franchise teams, cross-functional partners, and field teams.
• Determine strategic actions for the franchise to achieve top-line and relevant bottom-line outcomes.
• Align strategy and planning with external market dynamics, customer segments, and enterprise objectives.
• Exemplify “One-AbbVie” and the AbbVie Ways of Working principles.
• A bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a related business field is preferred, or equivalent relevant industry experience is required.
• Proven sales management experience and a successful track record in leading teams within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical sector, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, and marketing.
• Capability to establish a vision and strategic direction.
• Skill in inspiring individuals and teams towards achieving success.
• Experience in project management.
• Demonstrated ability to build networks and collaborate effectively across functional areas.
• Ability to exemplify AbbVie's Ways of Working.
• Must meet all relevant healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements.
• Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain necessary credentials.
• May require background checks, drug screenings, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses.
• Several years of cross-functional commercial pharmaceutical experience beyond traditional sales leadership is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of a major airport.
• Must have the ability to operate a personal vehicle or company car/truck, or manage powered material-handling equipment.
