Regional Safety Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Supervise the development of site-specific safety plans and activity hazard analyses for designated projects.

• Ensure adherence to safety policies and established standards.

• Formulate and execute both long-term strategies and short-term plans aimed at the continuous enhancement of regional safety, health, and environmental compliance programs.

• Verify that personal protective equipment complies with applicable OSHA regulations and that employees receive training on its proper usage.

• Perform safety audits at designated project locations.

• Ensure that incidents are reported, investigated, subjected to thorough root-cause analysis, and that corrective actions are executed.

• Evaluate subcontractor safety qualifications and participate in pre-construction meetings as necessary.

• Collaborate with project supervision and management to devise solutions for safety issues.

• Promote and sustain a positive safety culture among project personnel.

• Maintain safety certifications as mandated by contractual obligations.

• Conduct monthly safety meetings for project staff.

• Travel up to 75% to support safety operations.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health engineering or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

• At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible EHS experience in construction, renewable energy, industrial, manufacturing, utility, or energy-related operations.

• Proven experience in supporting utility-scale or commercial solar PV construction projects, BESS, and/or solar O&M activities.

• Strong understanding of electrical safety, NFPA 70e, lockout/tagout, arc flash hazard mitigation, and energized work practices.

• Preferred experience with OSHA Construction (29 CFR 1926) and General Industry (29 CFR 1910) standards.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, and other fundamental computer skills.

• Highly organized, proactive, and experienced in OSHA Compliance.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Exceptional writing capabilities with correct grammar usage.

• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification is mandatory.

• Advanced OSHA certifications are preferred (OSHA 510, OSHA 511, etc.).

• CSP, ASP, SMS, or other esteemed professional safety certifications are favored.

• Board Certified Safety Professional certifications are preferred (e.g., CHST, OHST, etc.).

• Current First Aid & CPR certification is essential.

• A valid driver’s license in good standing issued by the state of residence.
