This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +2 more states.
• Manage all facets of occupational safety administration at designated profit centers.
• Implement and ensure compliance with safety policies and programs.
• Report safety concerns to the Safety Director.
• Generate reports and suggest procedures to enhance organizational performance.
• Supervise the integrity and quality of safety protocols at branches within the assigned geographic region.
• Conduct safety compliance inspections and audits, including employee training, facility regulatory compliance, vehicle fleet/DOT compliance, and shop and equipment rental fleet compliance.
• Provide training and support to Branch Safety Coordinators.
• Identify inspection shortcomings and deliver written assessments with corrective action requirements.
• Assist Branch and Service Managers in meeting corrective action timelines.
• Facilitate necessary training, coordinate safety meetings, and maintain the Safety Training & Documentation Manual.
• Monitor and analyze regional and branch performance using leading and lagging indicators.
• Collaborate with the Vice President and Regional Managers to develop an annual strategic SH&E Business Plan.
• Lead monthly Safety Coordinator calls.
• Design and conduct the annual Safety Coordinator Boot Camp.
• Train and oversee staff on Sunbelt Rentals Safety Tools.
• Assist in incident and near-miss investigations and fulfill reporting requirements.
• Participate in monthly safety meetings and support Safety Stand Down meetings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Systems and implementing safety programs.
• Preferred Safety Certifications: OHST, CHST, SMS, GSP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for addressing individuals or groups.
• Capability to present information in classroom or conference call environments.
• Ability to develop and implement a strategic plan that includes measurable goals based on performance indicators.
• Proficient in tracking and analyzing performance across multiple locations based on incident data from internal tracking systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to travel, including overnight trips.
• General understanding of OSHA regulations for construction and general industry.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation safety.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Must be capable of bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds or more.
• Some positions may entail driving for extended periods, loading and unloading heavy equipment, working in extreme weather conditions, and/or night and weekend shifts.
