Regional Reimbursement Director, Neuroscience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the reimbursement landscape for Ipsen products within the Neuroscience therapeutic area in the healthcare provider sector.

• Maintain relationships with local Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs).

• Deliver field-based reimbursement assistance to designated healthcare providers for Ipsen neurology therapies.

• Interpret local and national payer policies and support customers with coding, coverage, and payment inquiries.

• Collaborate with Value & Access, field, sales, brand, and IPSEN CARES teams to enhance access and mitigate barriers.

• Formulate reimbursement strategies, tactics, tools, and approved materials for field use.

• Establish and sustain relationships with MAC contacts.

• Provide reimbursement assistance at advisory boards and professional conferences.

• Promote awareness of the IPSEN CARES Patient Support Hub.

• Act as an internal field reimbursement expert and supply competitive intelligence.

• Identify reimbursement-related access barriers and advise account managers on payer challenges and trends.

• Support patient access across physician practices, hospitals, academic institutions, thought leaders, advocates, and regional/state societies.

• Organize Ipsen presentations at payer and healthcare provider meetings.

• Address customer reimbursement support requests within established metrics.

• Aid in analyzing and planning for changes in local payer coverage policies.

• Assist in creating reimbursement training programs for healthcare providers.

• Collaborate with neurology commercial and market access teams to pinpoint barriers that impact product adoption and growth.

• Provide field insights that support strategic initiatives across academic centers, integrated health systems, and community neurology practices.

• Examine treatment patterns, referral networks, payer coverage trends, and site-of-care dynamics.

• Facilitate regional reimbursement readiness and access planning for new neurology product launches.

• Keep track of payer policies, prior authorization, step therapy, coding, payment, specialty pharmacy, and utilization management trends.

• Monitor competitive reimbursement and access developments and offer recommendations.

• Analyze the impact of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies.

• Engage with neurology practice administrators, reimbursement specialists, infusion center leaders, and advocacy organizations.

• Support provider education on reimbursement best practices and market access trends.

• Contribute to forecasting, lifecycle management, evidence dissemination, and future product planning.

• Assist in developing reimbursement resources, training programs, and field tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or consulting industries.

• A minimum of 5 years of related reimbursement experience with injectable or infused drugs, or medical device products that require reimbursement support.

• In-depth knowledge of coverage, coding, and payment policies.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

• Strong business acumen, analytical, administrative, and team-building skills.

• Capability to simplify complex messages and rationales in a compliant manner.

• Ability to work independently and lead effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and matrixed environment.

• Highest standards of personal integrity and ethics; strong judgment and discretion.

• Proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, texting, mobile smartphone, Veeva CRM, and Concur.

• Physical capability to operate relevant machines and/or equipment as required.

• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends when necessary.

• Ability to manage a large geographic territory and work efficiently from a home office, vehicle, or customer location.

• Up to 60% business travel, including regular overnight trips by air or car.

• Must live near a major airport within the region.

• A bachelor's degree in public policy, economics, business administration, life sciences, or a related field is mandatory.

• Previous reimbursement support experience with physician-administered ('buy and bill') oncology and neurology drugs is preferred.

• Experience with Medicare Part D products is strongly preferred.

• An advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS) is preferred.

• Certification in Medical Coding is preferred.
