This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist the Senior Vice President of Operations in enhancing OPCO performance within the designated region.
• Engage in operational reviews and discussions regarding projects.
• Identify risks associated with execution and opportunities for improvement.
• Aid in the implementation of operational discipline, encompassing project controls, productivity, and planning.
• Acquire knowledge of key projects, backlog, and operational drivers across OPCOs.
• Monitor trends in project execution, productivity indicators, and adherence to schedules.
• Provide organized updates to the Senior Vice President of Operations.
• Cultivate relationships with leadership teams at OPCOs.
• Assist in the transition of new CEOs or operations leaders.
• Support the Strategic Development Leader in ensuring alignment during onboarding.
• Coordinate enterprise initiatives related to preconstruction discipline, procurement strategies, project execution enhancements, and the adoption of technology and AI.
• Convert enterprise initiatives into actionable items for OPCOs.
• Aid in acquisition integration efforts and evaluate the operational maturity of newly acquired businesses.
• Familiarize with integration frameworks and expectations.
• Participate in leadership decision-making processes, operational reviews, and coaching from Operations Leadership.
• Work in office settings and visit field sites subject to varying project, manufacturing, and weather conditions.
• Travel 40-60% of the time by airplane and/or car.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related fields of study, or relevant field experience.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Mechanical Construction.
• Previous experience in areas such as Project Management, Field Operations, Estimating/Preconstruction, or Fabrication/Prefabrication.
• Preferred exposure to various project types (commercial, industrial, mission-critical).
• Broad understanding of the Mechanical Contracting industry.
• Proven history of managing projects while upholding commitments to Ethics and Safety.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with construction software such as Accubid, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with construction/financial software packages.
• Demonstrated capability to communicate effectively in English and collaborate with various levels of customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors, suppliers, and contractor organizations.
• Willingness to travel by airplane and/or car 40-60% of the time.
