This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Senegal.
• Drive Zepz’s growth, commercial optimization, and strategic presence throughout West and Central Africa, particularly in the UEMOA/XOF and CEMAC/XAF zones.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement new market entry strategies in the XOF and XAF regions.
• Oversee the complete launch process of new receiving corridors while managing operational and compliance risks.
• Initiate, negotiate, and finalize high-value partnerships with Tier-1 Banks, Payment Aggregators, and Mobile Money Operators.
• Create customized deal structures that optimize liquidity, treasury flows, and FX wholesale pricing within regulatory constraints.
• Review and enhance commercial agreements to boost margins, lower payout costs, and elevate transaction volume.
• Work collaboratively with Treasury and FX Wholesale teams to secure competitive FX rates, manage pegged currencies, and navigate capital flight restrictions.
• Represent Zepz before regional central banks, finance ministries, and local financial intelligence units.
• Develop relationships with C-suite executives at commercial banks, forex exchanges, and payment aggregators.
• Prepare business cases grounded in data that cover ROI, capital needs, competitive landscape, and associated risks.
• Track corridor performance, transaction trends, and competitive pricing to proactively refine strategies.
• A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in Business Development or Partnerships with a focus on Remittance, Cross-Border Payments, or FX Wholesale in West and Central Africa.
• Demonstrated experience operating within the XOF (UEMOA) and XAF (CEMAC) monetary zones.
• In-depth knowledge of regional regulatory, liquidity, and compliance specifics.
• Capacity to work independently and with minimal supervision across a broad geographic area.
• Strong strategic and commercial insight, including understanding treasury operations, float management, and clearing processes.
• Exceptional proficiency in writing business cases.
• Strong analytical abilities for identifying corridor bottlenecks, assessing partner performance, and predicting growth.
• Proven success in complex, multi-party commercial negotiations with financial institutions.
• Fluency in both English and French, both written and spoken.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• A genuine interest in AI and its workplace applications.
• Hands-on professional experience with AI tools.
• Strong AI literacy, including the ability to prompt and critically assess AI-generated outputs.
• Awareness of ethical and responsible AI usage, especially regarding sensitive data, customer experience, and compliance.
• Experience with Claude is a plus, though not mandatory.
