This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate in designing and implementing employee strategies, policies, and programs that align with organizational goals and values.
• Lead and supervise HR Specialists.
• Engage in regional leadership meetings, providing guidance to RDOs, AVPs, and GMs.
• Address employee grievances, complaints, and concerns effectively.
• Conduct comprehensive and impartial investigations into employee complaints.
• Advise and train managers and supervisors on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and organizational effectiveness.
• Identify and proactively address potential employee relations issues.
• Facilitate employee training and development programs, workshops, and meetings.
• Recognize high performers and collaborate with operations leadership to foster team member development.
• Develop initiatives to enhance company culture, support strategies for supervisors, and additional training programs.
• Regularly visit hotels to address grievances and carry out investigations.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices.
• Conduct management touchpoints and provide insights on employee relations and strategies for union avoidance.
• Develop and share metrics related to turnover and retention.
• Utilize HR data to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Assist in responding to employment audits and other inquiries.
• A four-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Hospitality is preferred.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications are preferred.
• Required experience in the hospitality industry or a similar field with a substantial hourly employee population.
• Must currently reside in California.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• In-depth understanding of California and federal labor relations laws.
• Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply relevant laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
• Capability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial or confrontational situations.
• Willingness to travel to hotels.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
