This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Collaborate in the design and execution of employee strategies, policies, and programs that align with the organization's goals and values.
β’ Lead and oversee a team of HR Specialists.
β’ Engage in regional leadership meetings and provide guidance to RDOs, AVPs, and GMs within the designated region.
β’ Address employee grievances, complaints, and concerns, ensuring prompt resolution.
β’ Conduct comprehensive and unbiased investigations into employee complaints.
β’ Advise and train managers and supervisors on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, culture development, and organizational effectiveness.
β’ Identify potential employee relations challenges and create strategies for prevention or mitigation.
β’ Facilitate and engage in employee training, development programs, workshops, and meetings.
β’ Recognize high performers and collaborate with operations leadership to nurture team members.
β’ Develop cultural initiatives, tackle supervisor and associate relations challenges, and create additional training as required.
β’ Regularly visit hotels to address grievances and conduct investigations.
β’ Stay informed on industry trends and best practices.
β’ Conduct manager touch points and offer insights on fostering positive employee relations and preventing unionization.
β’ Develop and disseminate turnover and retention reporting metrics.
β’ Utilize HR data to pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
β’ Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws while supporting audit responses and employment inquiries.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Hospitality is preferred.
β’ PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
β’ Required experience in the hospitality industry or another sector with a significant hourly employee population.
β’ Must currently reside in California.
β’ Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
β’ In-depth understanding of California and federal labor relations laws.
β’ Ability to comprehend, interpret, and implement relevant laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
β’ Capacity to remain tactful, composed, and persuasive in challenging or confrontational situations.
β’ Willingness to travel to hotels as needed.
β’ Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
