Regional Head – Banks and Financial Institutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Drive growth and commercial advancement for Coface’s Financial Institutions segment throughout North America.

• Manage new business acquisition, client retention, and portfolio expansion for the Financial Institutions segment.

• Initiate and execute FI transactions and established frameworks in trade finance, receivables finance, supply chain finance, securitization, and associated working-capital solutions.

• Cultivate and strengthen senior relationships with banks, financial institutions, and brokers specializing in Financial Institutions.

• Translate regional and Group FI strategies into actionable growth priorities, target-client profiles, underwriting strike zones, and market insights.

• Provide guidance to clients and intermediaries on risk-transfer structures that support financing goals, capital optimization, and regulatory compliance.

• Assess, curate, and negotiate tailored policy wordings, including NPI, syndicated, and non-cancellable structures, while obtaining approvals from Coface Group Headquarters in Paris.

• Utilize New York City as a central hub for key U.S. FI stakeholders.

• Collaborate with the Group FI team in Paris and with local and global colleagues in Commercial, Underwriting, Legal, and Operations.

• Work closely with the Group FI team through regular engagements and extended stays in Paris, typically lasting one week.

• Lead cross-functional growth initiatives while developing repeatable solutions and market entry strategies.

• Provide commercial leadership, effective executive-level communication, and disciplined pipeline management.

• Lead, mentor, and develop two FI Account Managers, with potential for team expansion.

• Report directly to the Regional Chief Commercial Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related area is preferred.

• Extensive experience in Financial Institutions, trade credit insurance, banking, credit specialties, or structured trade and working-capital solutions.

• Proven track record in originating and executing FI transactions.

• Proficiency in trade finance, receivables finance, supply chain finance, and related insurance structures.

• Understanding of transactional, regulatory, and capital-relief factors.

• Ability to structure and execute established insurance solutions and policy wordings for both traditional and tailored FI transactions across various jurisdictions.

• Strong commercial focus with a history of growth, client development, and successful execution with banks, financial institutions, and specialized brokers.

• Established credibility and relevant connections within the U.S. and global FI ecosystem.

• Excellent skills in structuring, negotiation, executive presentation, and stakeholder management.

• Capability to lead cross-functional initiatives and coordinate with Commercial, Underwriting, Legal, Operations, and Group stakeholders without solely relying on formal authority.

• Global perspective and readiness to travel frequently, including regular activities in New York City and extended work periods in Paris.
