Regional Financial Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Take charge of accurate, timely, and compliant accounting for each entity throughout the Americas.

• Collaborate with regional and global finance teams in the Americas to fulfill reporting and statutory requirements.

• Develop scalable finance processes in anticipation of new country deployments.

• Receive, verify, match, code, and oversee invoices for goods and services.

• Prepare and facilitate payments using checks, ACH, wire transfers, or credit cards.

• Maintain schedules for payment due dates and review and authorize payment runs.

• Create monthly, ad hoc, and contract-compliant customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.

• Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledgers with the general ledger and conduct bank reconciliations.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly indirect tax reports such as VAT.

• Execute assigned month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Address vendor inquiries and resolve billing issues or payment disputes.

• Keep precise accounts payable records and audit documentation.

• Assist with tax filings for regional entities and coordinate with external advisory firms.

• Generate reports for internal management and external auditors.

• Collaborate with the Systems Accountant to implement and enhance processes and systems.

• Aid in the development and adaptation of processes to new software tools, including AI.

• Support finance readiness for new country launches, encompassing chart of accounts, statutory and indirect tax registrations, banking, and payment setups.

• Ensure consistent accounting practices and controls across regional entities while accommodating local statutory requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate’s degree or BA in accounting or finance, or an equivalent qualification.

• Over 5 years of demonstrated experience in full cycle accounting, including managing multiple legal entities or jurisdictions.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent organizational abilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Previous experience with purchase order processes.

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.

• CA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Experience in supporting finance operations across various Latin American jurisdictions or establishing finance processes in a new country is desirable.

• Knowledge of Portuguese, Dutch, French, or other languages spoken in South America is an asset.
