Finance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, audit, and sustain programmatic pricing models utilized for structuring and pricing agreements within Sparkfund's Distributed Capacity Procurement initiatives.

• Revise and enhance current models as program economics, deal formats, or market dynamics evolve.

• Create custom financial models for unique pricing arrangements or deal structures that fall outside of existing frameworks.

• Collaborate with Business Development, Program, and Project teams to gather cost, revenue, timing, and financing assumptions.

• Verify assumptions against the original source data and highlight discrepancies prior to their influence on pricing outputs.

• Convert model outputs into terms that non-financial stakeholders can utilize to structure and negotiate deals.

• Report directly to the Director of Corporate Finance.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in financial modeling, corporate finance, or a related quantitative position.

• Proficient technical modeling capabilities, including the creation, auditing, and troubleshooting of complex Excel models from the ground up.

• Familiarity with DCF analysis, capital stack development (debt, equity, mezzanine), discount rate and cost of capital concepts, IRR, NPV, and other return metrics.

• Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in validating assumptions across various sources.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret model outputs for non-financial stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or another quantitative discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Knowledge of project finance structures or energy asset modeling is a plus.

• Experience in infrastructure, energy, or utility-facing sectors is advantageous.

• Experience in constructing models that aid live deal negotiations is beneficial.
