Regional EHS Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide ongoing EHS support for service and major project site operations across Hydro in the United States.

• Cultivate relationships with operational and project managers to promote a strong EHS culture.

• Assist sites in adhering to regulatory and GE standards while ensuring understanding of contractual EHS obligations.

• Execute audits as per the business audit plan and implement improvements.

• Oversee the chemistry Safety Data Sheet database for the United States.

• Perform site and work-method inspections to confirm proper usage of safety procedures, protective equipment, and safety devices.

• Foster continuous enhancement of EHS programs across various sites.

• Aid in recruitment and manage the development of site-based EHS personnel.

• Review and assess high-risk programs and suggest enhancements.

• Assist in maintaining accreditation across the assigned sites.

• Promote the utilization of digital programs and tools at the assigned locations.

• Conduct tender evaluations to assess EHS requirements and associated risks.

• Evaluate safety and environmental risks during bidding processes and project execution.

• Investigate incidents and hazardous situations, identify trends and root causes, and ensure follow-up on corrective and preventive measures.

• Provide EHS training to designated site personnel.

• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of EHS information, both internally and externally.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant EHS field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Professional certifications such as CHST, ASP, or CSP are preferred.

• Over 8 years of EHS experience with exposure to various EHS areas in a Projects or Services context.

• Familiarity with the Oil and Gas, Electrification, or Energy sectors.

• Understanding of OSHA and state-specific regulatory standards.

• Documented completion of 24 hours of safety-related education for each of the last three to five years.

• OSHA 30 or higher certification obtained within the last 5 years is preferred.

• Capacity to work on government projects.

• Willingness to travel up to 70%, as needed.

• Proven experience managing and working on field service sites.

• Proficiency in English with strong oral and written communication skills.

• Strong leadership and influencing abilities.

• Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple issues with conflicting priorities.

• High energy and a proactive self-starter attitude.

• Hands-on experience in risk elimination, ergonomics, and project management concerning high-hazard tasks.

• Trainer qualifications in CPR/First Aid/AED, Confined Space Rescue, and Forklift Trainer.

• Knowledge of EM 385.

• Six Sigma Greenbelt trained/certified (GE Employees only).
