Regional Director of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide direction and support to onsite personnel responsible for maintaining hotel equipment, systems, and building elements.

• Collaborate with the Regional Director of Operations and Hotel General Managers on annual staffing and budgeting at the property level.

• Assist in the recruitment and selection of Area Chief Engineers, Property-Level Chief Engineers, and maintenance supervisors.

• Educate property-level engineering leaders and engineers on safety protocols and compliance with legal standards.

• Track goals of the preventative maintenance program using communication tools and Quore electronic PM software.

• Offer guidance on energy reduction strategies through training and best practices.

• Develop procedures for securing hotel inventory and assets, restocking engineering supplies, and managing documentation.

• Ensure that electronic preventive maintenance logs are kept up to date.

• Monitor life-safety inspections, deficiencies, and related documentation.

• Provide immediate operational support during mechanical emergencies and natural disasters.

• Create written emergency protocols for engineering staff at the property.

• Conduct bi-annual property engineering audits through Quore.

• Oversee special capital projects, including significant mechanical replacements.

• Report property issues and projects to the corporate engineering team on a bi-weekly basis.

• Assist properties in obtaining and reviewing competitive bids for capital projects.

• Maintain a catalog of mechanical equipment and keep equipment and warranty records in Quore.

• Communicate asset-preservation recommendations to Corporate Engineering leadership during the budgeting process.

• Provide feedback on engineering staff performance during property visits.

• Promote and practice safe work habits.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by executive management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School diploma and/or completion of trade school coursework in a relevant field is required.

• Certification in one or more of the following trades is preferred: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Project Management.

• A minimum of five years of experience in a Director of Engineering or management-level engineering and maintenance role within hospitality and/or a related field (such as commercial property/residence or healthcare).

• Experience managing multiple properties is preferred.

• Outstanding leadership abilities.

• Familiarity with hospitality industry standards for employee and guest interactions and professionalism.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A valid Driver’s License is required.

• Extensive travel (75%) is necessary.

• Must be available to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekends, or alternate shifts.

• Capability to stand for long periods, walk, push, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

• Ability to provide support to properties located in TX, KY, TN, MO, and NC.
