Regional Director – MSL East

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Recruit, train, deploy, and oversee a regional MSL team to fulfill clinical and business objectives.

• Collaborate with the National Director, senior leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop, coordinate, and execute regional field medical activities.

• Allocate regional resources, manage fiscal budgets, share scientific information adhering to regulatory and compliance guidelines, and report on regional outcomes.

• Guide, coordinate, mentor, and coach MSLs within the assigned geographic area.

• Formulate and execute MSL strategies and tactics while monitoring compliance and results.

• Conduct competitive business analysis and define clinical positioning for the specified therapeutic area.

• Support the development, implementation, and achievement of business and clinical strategies, tactical plans, and field-level results quantification.

• Maintain knowledge of therapeutic areas, treatments, competitors, market trends, and products.

• Assess local and regional business needs in collaboration with clinical and commercial organizations.

• Ensure appropriate communication, tools, training, materials, database upkeep, KOL documentation, audits, and compliance for MSL team members.

• Provide timely performance feedback, conduct annual reviews, plan for growth and succession, and address any performance concerns.

• Allocate resources, integrate MSL activities across functions, complete special projects, and identify new initiatives.

• Mentor and train managers and new team members.

• Report regional activities and outcomes to senior and cross-functional leadership.

• Perform other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree in medical science (MD, PharmD, or PhD) is highly preferred.

• Candidates without an advanced degree must have at least 2 years of leadership experience in an industry MSL team within the therapeutic area.

• Candidates without an advanced degree are also required to possess 8+ years of overall related experience.

• Leadership experience with direct reports is strongly preferred.

• Ability to manage time and priorities efficiently.

• Strong leadership abilities and a knack for compiling and disseminating information effectively.

• A solid understanding of drug development and the product life-cycle process.

• Capability to build and maintain relationships with thought leaders, establishing trust through scientific expertise and follow-through.

• Proficient in working effectively with key decision-makers both inside and outside the organization.

• Willingness to travel as needed.
