Regional Asset Protection Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop, create, lead, and enhance the Asset Protection function for ALO sanctuaries across designated Midwest districts and Canada.

• Evaluate inventory shrinkage and formulate strategies to combat external theft, internal theft, fraud, and operational errors.

• Propel shrink-reduction objectives and relay Asset Protection initiatives to field leadership and store teams.

• Identify high-shrink and high-risk sanctuaries and create measurable action plans.

• Perform risk assessments, site vulnerability evaluations, and physical security assessments.

• Compile monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual Asset Protection reports with KPI trend analysis.

• Utilize exception-based reporting, POS data, inventory reports, RFID, CCTV, case management systems, and AI-enabled tools for analysis and investigations.

• Detect, investigate, and resolve incidents of theft, fraud, organized retail crime, cash loss, merchandise loss, integrity issues, and other loss-related activities.

• Conduct interviews and prepare investigative reports, findings, and recommendations.

• Collaborate with Retail Operations, People & Culture, Legal, law enforcement, emergency services, security providers, and industry organizations.

• Oversee physical security systems, training, third-party security providers, post orders, and security resources.

• Assist with new sanctuary openings through security evaluations, system readiness, and training.

• React to incidents such as workplace violence, threats, robbery, burglary, vandalism, and major operational events.

• Offer guidance during heightened security or safety situations and support corrective and preventive measures.

• Train and educate store teams on Asset Protection, theft prevention, fraud prevention, workplace safety, and incident reporting.

• Foster integrity, accountability, safety, and responsible technology usage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a comparable combination of education and professional experience in retail Asset Protection, loss prevention, investigations, law enforcement, private security, risk management, or a related field.

• At least five years of multi-unit, field-based Asset Protection or loss prevention experience.

• A minimum of two years in a supervisory or leadership role supporting multiple locations.

• Experience in conducting internal and external theft, fraud, and integrity investigations.

• Strong analytical skills with experience in translating reports and data into loss-reduction and risk-mitigation strategies.

• Proficiency in utilizing AI-enabled technology for analysis, investigations, productivity, and strategic decision-making.

• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated information and exercise professional judgment.

• Exceptional written, verbal, interviewing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Capacity to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Skill in handling sensitive situations with discretion, objectivity, and diplomacy.

• Proficiency with Asset Protection applications, CCTV platforms, POS reporting, RFID, case management tools, Shopify, and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with relevant Canadian privacy, surveillance, security, employment, and workplace safety regulations is preferred.

• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with company personnel, third-party security providers, and law enforcement partners.

• Willingness to learn new technologies, skills, methodologies, and industry best practices.

• Ability to respond to store emergencies and ensure accessibility.

• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Midwest and Canada, including overnight and weekend travel, up to approximately 80% of the time.
