
Regional Advisor, Supply Chain β Central and West Africa

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Senegal, +2 more countries.
β’ Assist in the development and execution of supply chain strategies, policies, standards, tools, and best practices on both regional and agency-wide levels.
β’ Contribute to regional proposal formulation and evaluation by providing supply chain insights, including SCM Plans, Commodity Calculators, and Procurement Plans.
β’ Incorporate principles of climate action and environmental sustainability into procurement choices.
β’ Represent CRS during regional planning and coordination meetings, fostering relationships with donors, peer organizations, and stakeholders.
β’ Provide guidance and support to country programs regarding logistics, procurement, warehousing, fleet management, and supply chain compliance.
β’ Aid in the deployment and effective utilization of ERP systems like Oracle for planning, execution, and reporting purposes.
β’ Assist in annual procurement planning and the rationalization and coordination of procurement efforts throughout the region.
β’ Review intricate tender documents, RFPs, bid packages, contracts, and due diligence materials.
β’ Support fleet and driver management systems, including the development of policies, training initiatives, and telematics.
β’ Advocate for supply chain performance metrics and KPIs to promote continuous improvement and accountability.
β’ Assist countries in addressing audit findings and executing corrective measures.
β’ Contribute to regional capacity building through training, workshops, conferences, coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders at the country, regional, and global levels.
β’ Travel to CRS country programs as needed, up to 30% of the time.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
β’ At least 7 years of progressive experience in international supply chain, logistics, or procurement.
β’ Familiarity with ERP systems, with a preference for Oracle.
β’ Proficient in MS Office applications and information management systems.
β’ Strong understanding of procurement and trading policies and regulations, as well as international import/export laws and customs regulations.
β’ Knowledge of Generally Accepted Commodity Accountability Principles (GACAP).
β’ Technical proficiency in warehouse operations and inventory management, including FIFO/FEFO, cycle counting, stock reconciliation, root-cause analysis, ABC analysis, batch/lot and expiry management, warehouse layout optimization, and loss/shrinkage prevention.
β’ Experience in transportation, including dispatch planning.
β’ Background in mentoring, coaching, facilitation, and training, employing adult learning principles and practices.
β’ Strong relationship management capabilities with the ability to influence individuals not under direct supervision.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly through Outlook and Teams.
β’ Strategic, analytical, and organizational skills with systems thinking capabilities.
β’ Strong skills in presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching.
β’ Ability to adopt a proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented approach.
β’ Fluency in English is required.
β’ Must be open to and capable of traveling up to 30% of the time.
β’ Legal eligibility to work in the location where the position is based.
β’ Pre-employment medical clearance is mandatory for positions necessitating residence or frequent travel outside of the home country.
