This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Serve as the representative for PTC’s products to medical professionals focused on metabolic diseases and/or PKU.
• Drive sales while effectively communicating and promoting the clinical and economic advantages of the products.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with physicians, healthcare personnel, advocacy organizations, and influential thought leaders.
• Provide education to healthcare staff and pinpoint opportunities for both commercial and scientific advancement.
• Meet assigned sales goals in a compliant manner.
• Develop, implement, and enhance a strategic business plan for the designated territory.
• Present the territory strategy and performance while maintaining ownership of the territory.
• Execute marketing strategies for products related to metabolic diseases and/or PKU.
• Collaborate with Patient Services, Patient Engagement, Marketing, Managed Markets, and Medical Affairs.
• Identify critical treatment centers and facilities, collaborating with stakeholders to improve patient care.
• Address issues related to product access and reimbursement.
• Undertake additional tasks and assignments as instructed by management.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required; degrees in life sciences, business, or healthcare are preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare sales is necessary.
• At least 3 years of experience in rare disease, orphan drug, or highly specialized sales is essential.
• Experience in selling high-cost products through specialty pharmacies with extensive patient-services coordination is required.
• Capability to build and execute comprehensive territory business plans and present territory strategies and performance.
• A proven history of surpassing sales goals and managing territory growth.
• Sales experience within specialized clinics, hospitals, and academic institutions, including complete account selling.
• Proficiency in analyzing complex technical data and creating strategic, actionable business plans.
• Strong understanding of reimbursement, patient access, payer coverage, prior authorization, specialty pharmacy distribution, and account pull-through.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
• Competence to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, organization, and time-management skills are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including nights and weekends as necessary.
• A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle with an active insurance policy are mandatory.
• Ability to travel daily to and from customer accounts, drive long distances, and gain access to hospitals and medical facilities.
• Capability to meet facility vendor credentialing requirements, including training, background checks, and proof of immunization.
• Up to 75% travel is expected, which may include overnight travel and required trips outside the assigned territory for sales meetings.
