Refuel Floor Technical Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the activities of both union and non-union staff engaged in BWR Refuel Floor outage maintenance tasks.

• Spearhead project planning, transition strategy, risk identification, risk management, and contingency strategies.

• Guide and mentor diverse teams of GEH personnel and contingent workers, including skilled labor.

• Contribute technical expertise to commercial proposals regarding labor estimates, hours, tools, and logistics.

• Build and maintain relationships with senior management from customers and suppliers regarding commercial, execution, technical, and compliance matters.

• Assist in the development of Product Line proposals, product innovations, growth strategies, and training programs.

• Offer specialized knowledge in reactor maintenance, in-vessel tooling, and GEH original equipment manufacturer equipment.

• Uphold principles of integrity, nuclear safety, and a culture of quality.

• Ensure deliverables are of high quality and meet customer specifications, business protocols, and regulatory standards.

• Promote the standard GVH processes throughout projects and guarantee adherence to procedures.

• Execute additional tasks as required by business demands.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field with 5 years of experience in BWR Refuel Floor Outage Maintenance, OR a High School Diploma coupled with at least 10 years of experience in BWR Refuel Floor Outage Maintenance.

• Prior experience as a Refuel Floor Technical Director or a similar role supporting Refuel Outage maintenance operations.

• Willingness and ability to travel over 70% of the time to both domestic and international customer locations.

• Willingness and ability to assist with off-season projects, such as Spent Fuel Pool cleanup and Dry Cask storage initiatives.

• Willingness and ability to teach GEH Technical Training courses.

• Must meet Fitness for Duty and site security standards to secure and maintain unescorted access to U.S. and International Nuclear Plant Sites.

• Capability and willingness to operate in radiation-controlled and radioactively contaminated environments.

• Must successfully complete a respirator fit test and a physical examination.

• Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week during field project delivery.

• Competence in managing effectively under high-stress situations.

• Ability to gain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if required.

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.

• Broader nuclear experience, including plant operations and/or maintenance duties.

• Experience with Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) outage maintenance tasks.

• Experience with executing Spent Fuel Pool Cleanup and Dry Cask Storage projects.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

• Experience in commercial activities, proposal development, and cost estimation.

• In-depth knowledge of nuclear power plant refueling, maintenance, inspection, and modifications.

• Familiarity with BWR and PWR vessels and components, Nuclear Steam Safety Systems (NSSS), and Containment Buildings.

• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, P6, PLM, and Oracle ERP.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Keen attention to detail and accountability for outcomes.
