This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of Shield AI's university recruitment strategy from start to finish, which includes managing the target school portfolio, annual planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Lead efforts to gather demand for interns, co-ops, and intern-to-FTE transitions, ensuring timely approvals and postings of job requisitions.
• Enhance Shield AI's campus presence by utilizing technical storytelling, fostering relationships with faculty and career centers, and engaging with student organizations focused on robotics, AI, and diversity.
• Act as a representative for Shield AI at career fairs, technical talks, and informational sessions while developing early candidate pipelines.
• Oversee complete recruiting processes for intern, co-op, and entry-level positions across software, systems, electrical, integration and testing, and mechanical engineering disciplines.
• Maintain a structured and bias-free evaluation process, including conducting intern interview training and calibration sessions.
• Extend job offers within the established framework and collaborate with the Compensation team for salary and housing stipend benchmarking.
• Manage the experience from accepted offer to Day 1, enhancing onboarding readiness.
• Collaborate with the intern program team on mentorship matching, project scoping, performance reviews, and intern-related events.
• Oversee the intern conversion process, facilitating return-intern and full-time offers.
• Provide reports on demand fulfillment, offer acceptance rates, conversion metrics, diversity statistics, and school ROI to refine recruiting strategies.
• Present school portfolio and ROI analyses to senior leadership, engage in technical calibration with hiring managers, and secure competitive candidates.
• A minimum of 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to university, early-career, or campus recruiting.
• Comprehensive ownership of campus strategy, which encompasses school selection, event organization, budgeting, and execution during the recruitment season.
• Proven history of high-volume technical hiring for engineering positions and successfully closing candidates in competitive environments.
• Experience collaborating directly with senior business and engineering leaders regarding workforce planning and demand forecasting.
• Capability to develop and utilize funnel metrics, conversion rates, and ROI analyses for informed decision-making and to influence leadership.
• Proficient in using an ATS and sourcing tools; skilled at creating processes, templates, and reporting from the ground up.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel during peak recruiting seasons on campuses.
• Demonstrated commitment to hard work, dependable teamwork, high standards, and kindness.
• Preferred: experience in recruiting within the AI, robotics, aerospace, or defense technology sectors.
• Preferred: experience in managing or supporting internship or co-op programs, including transitions from intern to full-time roles.
• Preferred: familiarity with U.S. defense industry hiring considerations, such as ITAR/EAR export controls and work authorization requirements.
