Recovery Specialist II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Collect severely overdue student loans to safeguard Nelnet's assets.

• Initiate manual outbound collection efforts.

• Handle a limited number of incoming calls.

• Engage in some auto-dialer tasks.

• Reach out to borrowers via telephone, mail, and email to establish payment plans.

• Assess suitable strategies to resolve overdue accounts and negotiate payment arrangements.

• Conduct skip-tracing activities to locate borrowers.

• Provide borrowers with account details and history to educate them about their situations.

• Update borrower demographics and information within the servicing system.

• Undertake additional collection activities related to collection documents and reports.

• Adhere to the Performance Based Organization (PBO) and Easy To Do Business With (ETDBW) principles.

• Participate in Continuous Process Improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Preferably 2 years of experience in customer service, collections, or related fields.

• Customer-oriented mindset.

• Strong analytical abilities.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in listening and reading comprehension.

• Intermediate mathematical skills.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Demonstrated customer service orientation.

• Proficient in PC usage.

• Competent in 10-key operations.

• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of Lincoln, NE or Brownsville, TX.

• Availability from Monday to Friday, between 11:30 a.m. CST and 8:00 p.m. CST.
