This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Process products associated with pre-employment background applications, which include MVRs, civil court cases, criminal cases and registries, drug testing, and OFAC.
• Retrieve and input applicant history data from computer/web-based systems, files, and documents.
• Quickly and accurately locate information in compliance with relevant state laws and procedures.
• Utilize software programs to provide immediate criminal results to clients.
• Investigate and adjudicate criminal records using internet databases.
• Conduct data entry through spreadsheet or database commands.
• Carry out extensive internet inquiries and searches to enhance criminal records.
• Analyze gathered information to identify potential issues or inconsistencies.
• Reach out to clients and external resources via email and/or phone to verify information.
• Appropriately update order statuses.
• Handle confidential information with care and sound judgment.
• Monitor and implement changes in processing and systems.
• Manage and track productivity time utilizing Google Docs.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Experience in customer service or research/investigations is mandatory.
• Familiarity with internet research is essential.
• Experience with the legal/court system is desirable.
• Background screening experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is necessary.
• Experience with relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, CRM, etc. is a plus.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
• If performing work-related driving, a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a driving record acceptable to the company's liability insurance carrier are required.
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• Ability to work during standard Eastern Time Zone business hours.
• Capability to lift light objects (less than 20 pounds) and carry them short distances (20 feet or less).
• Some travel by personal automobile and occasional overnight travel may be necessary.
