This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of UK properties that support bp's retail, convenience, and EV charging operations.

• Manage the performance of leasehold and freehold assets.

• Balance commercial outcomes with compliance, risk management, and operational requirements.

• Handle lease renewals, rent reviews, lease restructures, disposals, acquisitions, and various property transactions.

• Provide real estate expertise in development, construction, and maintenance activities.

• Assist with landlord approvals, licenses, and access arrangements.

• Manage property-related expenses, including rents, service charges, business rates, and professional fees.

• Plan and forecast expenditures in alignment with business priorities.

• Ensure compliance with lease, license, and statutory obligations.

• Monitor key dates, contractual commitments, and potential risks.

• Collaborate with internal teams and advisors to resolve compliance issues and maintain controls.

• Work alongside landlords, tenants, local authorities, joint venture partners, investors, and infrastructure providers.

• Oversee external property agents, legal counsel, valuers, managing agents, and business rates specialists.

• Maintain accurate portfolio records and support reporting needs.

• Deliver insights for investment planning, governance, and business decision-making.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial real estate, estates management, asset management, or a similar property-focused field.

• Familiarity with UK lease agreements, landlord-tenant issues, business rates, and property compliance.

• Capability to manage budgets and engage with external advisors effectively.

• Ability to prioritize competing demands across a diverse portfolio.

• Proficiency in articulating complex property issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• A curious and practical approach to problem-solving.

• Strong relationship-building skills across teams and customer groups.

• Competence in using data and evidence to guide decisions.

• Willingness to take ownership of outcomes while remaining receptive to diverse perspectives.

• Ability to operate within established governance and compliance frameworks.

• Excellent communication skills.

• A degree or equivalent in Real Estate, Property, Law, Finance, Business, or a related discipline is advantageous.

• Professional membership such as MRICS is appreciated but not mandatory.

• Anticipate up to 50% travel.

• Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom; this position is not eligible for relocation.
