RCM, Collections Specialist, Medical Biller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Ensure timely and precise submission of invoices to payers for the products and services rendered.

• Comprehend contract terms and fee schedules related to the invoices submitted.

• Assess quantities and pricing for billed medications.

• Confirm authorizations and the necessary documentation.

• Evaluate and correctly allocate payments to patient accounts.

• Dispatch secondary bills and patient invoices within 48 hours of receiving payments.

• Inform the Reimbursement Manager about any overpayments and duplicate payments.

• Transfer payments that belong to other offices within 48 hours.

• Follow up on submitted invoices to guarantee prompt payment.

• Verify the receipt and processing of claims.

• Communicate with patients or responsible parties when insurers do not pay within a reasonable timeframe.

• Generate and send statements and collection letters.

• Follow up on denied claims within 48 hours of receipt.

• Assist in Billing and Collection Training.

• Complete second-level appeals to payers.

• Ensure adherence to contract terms, fee schedules, company policies, and guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification.

• 0 – 6 months of prior experience in Infusion Reimbursement or Intake/Admissions.

• Candidates must currently reside in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone to be eligible.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word.

• Understanding of payer contracts and fee schedules.

• Capability to accurately determine quantities and prices for billed medications.

• Ability to verify authorizations and necessary documentation.

• Competence in adhering to HIPAA guidelines and maintaining confidentiality for patients and business matters.
