RCM Collections Lead Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and cultivate a team of Collections Specialists, establishing daily priorities and enforcing follow-up schedules along with documentation standards.

• Manage a portion of the Tier 3 AR portfolio directly, which includes payer follow-up, resolving denials, and conducting escalation calls.

• Act as the primary escalation contact for complex denials, payer disputes, and accounts that necessitate advanced review or documentation.

• Monitor team-level AR aging and denial trends, report on KPI performance, and identify systemic issues with data-backed recommendations.

• Ensure the consistent application of productivity scorecards, standardized follow-up templates, and practices that allow for auditable documentation.

• Achieve 30-, 60-, and 90-day onboarding goals, which encompass learning RCM platforms, setting productivity expectations, delivering weekly performance summaries, and spearheading an improvement initiative.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, with a specific focus on collections and AR follow-up.

• Prior experience in leading, mentoring, or training billing specialists or contractors in an RCM setting.

• Proficient in advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data cleansing techniques.

• In-depth knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems.

• Familiarity with commercial and government payer timely filing limit policies and claim adjudication processes.

• Skilled in navigating EHRs, clearinghouse platforms, payer portals, and CRM systems such as Salesforce.

• Experience with Athena or Candid Health is a plus.

• Capability to stay organized while simultaneously managing team workload and a personal account portfolio.

• Must adhere to HIPAA-related security and privacy procedures to maintain patient confidentiality.
