Radio Frequency Engineer – Military, Tactical, Link-16

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute RF spectrum engineering and perform technical analyses.

• Facilitate interagency frequency coordination in support of JTIDS, MIDS, and Link-16 operations.

• Recognize and address potential impacts on FAA systems and the National Airspace System.

• Act as a technical liaison between DoD and FAA stakeholders for military Link-16 testing, exercises, and operations.

• Evaluate and analyze DoD TFA, QTTR, and Link-16 usage notifications.

• Develop engineering recommendations and FAA concurrence packages that detail conditions, restrictions, or mitigation requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field, completion of a formal spectrum management course, or pertinent military experience.

• Over 2 years of experience in RF/spectrum engineering, EMI/EMC and interference analysis, RF propagation/modeling and geospatial analysis, and/or federal frequency coordination/spectrum management.

• Proficient in conducting propagation modeling, link-budget analysis, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) assessments.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Capability to learn FAA-specific software and systems.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Required to possess and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.

• Preferred: experience with Link-16/JTIDS/MIDS, Tactical Data Links, JEMSO, electromagnetic spectrum management operations, electronic warfare, C2, air defense, and/or federal frequency coordination/spectrum management.

• Preferred: experience in evaluating radio-frequency system parameters, mitigating interference, and addressing spectrum-engineering challenges.

• Preferred: understanding of spectrum management roles and responsibilities within the NAS.

• Preferred: familiarity with NTIA, IRAC, FCC, and related sub-committees.
