Consulting Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide wireless planning, design, implementation, and optimization services for Cisco’s key accounts.

• Conduct architectural planning and design activities.

• Offer configuration and integration support to clients.

• Deliver operational assistance for intricate wireless network deployments.

• Identify and document design and architecture guidelines for global adoption of Cisco Services.

• Collaborate with the Customer Experience team, customer support teams, Cisco TAC, development engineering, and sales teams.

• Engage in complex network builds, performance engineering, troubleshooting, and resolution of WLAN-related issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Proven experience in a network engineering or telecommunications support environment.

• A Master’s degree is highly preferred.

• Strong technical account leadership capabilities.

• Extensive knowledge of wireless technology, particularly with the Meraki dashboard.

• Proficient in RF design, survey/engineering, and troubleshooting using Ekahau or Hamina.

• Skills in IP network design.

• Understanding of deploying Cisco Spaces in a customer setting.

• Experience in designing and deploying WLAN applications, such as Voice over WLAN, Context-Aware Location-Based Services, and Wireless Guest Access.

• Comprehensive understanding of WLAN security and network management, including ISE and/or RADIUS services.

• Expert-level problem-solving abilities in a large-scale network environment.

• Must be willing to travel 25% for on-site customer meetings and specific fixes.
