Quality Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance to Quality Assurance professionals in crafting test strategies, emphasizing best practices, automation coverage, and testability.

• Evaluate test cases and automation scripts, offering guidance on the effective utilization of tools, standards, and the established test suite architecture.

• Engage in discussions about optimal quality strategies for intricate issues with the Technical Leads of each workstream and architects, accurately representing the QA team's realities and constraints.

• Assist QAs and development teams in identifying, analyzing, and resolving incidents, promoting team independence and technical growth.

• Collaborate with Requirements Analysts, Product Owners, and Technical Leads to prioritize and monitor quality-related tasks.

• Ensure that the test strategy is in line with quality, security, and timeline standards, including the commitment to keeping the main branch consistently green within the trunk-based development framework.

• Work alongside the Technical Leads of each workstream to define the anticipated test coverage for code associated with feature flags, considering both enabled and disabled states.

• Promote knowledge sharing and cultivate a collaborative atmosphere within the QA team.

• Facilitate coordination between the QA team and other technical leadership groups, ensuring clear and objective communication.

• Suggest and spearhead initiatives for improving processes, tools, and quality standards.

• Conduct regular discussions with the QA team, providing ongoing and constructive feedback.

• Maintain a personal follow-up routine for the three QAs, including one-on-one meetings, delivery reviews, and individual development plans for each team member.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress, or equivalent demonstrated experience in software quality, test automation, or technical leadership.

• Expertise in test strategy and automation suite architecture: Playwright for web, Maestro and Detox for mobile, Postman/Bruno, and Pact for APIs and contract testing.

• Proficient in GitLab CI: defining quality gates and test pipelines, with an emphasis on maintaining the main branch in a green state.

• Knowledge of test strategies for code behind feature flags, including the risks associated with combinations of multiple flags.

• Familiarity with OWASP ZAP for security testing and analysis.

• Experience utilizing AI through MCP, including Playwright MCP, for assisted test scenario exploration and execution.

• Understanding of AWS applied to test environments, covering ephemeral environments, execution parallelization, and infrastructure costs.

• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban), utilizing Kanbanize (Businessmap) as a tracking tool.
