This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Evaluate requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical designs to determine testing needs.
• Create comprehensive test cases, test scripts, scenarios, and test data in alignment with project requirements.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing across relevant VistA packages.
• Confirm the removal or replacement of SSN data within workflows, user interfaces, reports, audit records, and associated processes.
• Ensure proper implementation of enterprise identifiers and expected application functionality.
• Execute both manual and, when feasible, automated testing.
• Accurately document software defects, unexpected behaviors, and test failures.
• Monitor defects through investigation, resolution, retesting, and closure.
• Work with developers and Business Analysts to replicate issues and validate fixes.
• Engage in defect triage, providing insights on defect severity, impact, and reproducibility.
• Confirm that implemented features satisfy documented business, technical, privacy, and security requirements.
• Assist in testing related to PII/PHI protection and relevant NIST control requirements.
• Maintain traceability between project requirements, acceptance criteria, test cases, and outcomes.
• Identify gaps in testing coverage and suggest enhancements to QA processes.
• Participate in Sprint Planning, backlog refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
• Collaborate with the QA Lead, developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Report testing progress, defects, risks, and obstacles to the QA Lead and project team.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
• Experience in developing and executing software test cases and test scripts.
• Experience in documenting and tracking software defects.
• Experience in conducting functional and regression testing within enterprise software environments.
• Experience collaborating with developers and Business Analysts throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Experience testing applications for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other Federal healthcare applications.
• Experience testing VistA applications or familiarity with MUMPS-based systems.
• Familiarity with ADT, PCE, AICS, Record Tracking, VistA Audit Solutions, or related VistA packages.
• Knowledge of PII/PHI handling requirements, HIPAA, NIST security controls, or VA privacy standards.
• Experience with automated testing tools or techniques.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• All selected candidates must successfully pass a background check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when necessary for the position.
