This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Develop and implement a quality strategy on a weekly basis as the scope increases.
β’ Oversee the cross-service contract suite to manage production effectively.
β’ Plan for future QA hiring in phase 2.
β’ Establish automation patterns through deployment; enhance the skills of the QA engineers around you.
β’ Ensure automation coverage for the services within your squads.
β’ Create fast-turnaround regression suites to facilitate weekly deployments.
β’ Enable rapid detection and reporting of issues.
β’ Provide quality signals in minutes rather than days.
β’ Conduct load and stress testing to meet the latency budgets of your services.
β’ Adhere to your committed timelines.
β’ 8+ years of experience in QA/SDET; you have built a test-automation framework from the ground up for a fast-paced product β you will develop ours before scaled module QA is established.
β’ Proficient in isolating issues and debugging root causes β you can pinpoint a failure to the service, the commit, or the event; development teams appreciate your bug reports as they facilitate the debugging process.
β’ Expertise in fast regression practices β utilizing parallelized suites and intelligent test selection to achieve results in minutes; ensure quality at the speed of weekly deployments without becoming a bottleneck.
β’ Experience in high-load testing environments β perform load, stress, and soak tests on high-throughput, low-latency systems; adept at identifying the knee of the curve.
β’ Familiarity with testing event-driven systems, WebSocket flows, and browser extensions β including ordering, race conditions, and real-time state management.
β’ CI-native mindset β integrate tests into trunk-based CI/CD; prioritize flake management as a fundamental practice (a flaky suite is equivalent to a broken suite).
β’ Conduct contract/API testing between services; generate synthetic data and traffic (simulated calls, event streams, audio) for repeatable real-time testing.
β’ Experience in testing AI outputs β utilizing evaluation-style assertions for non-deterministic LLM/ML features is a significant advantage.
β’ We focus on AUTOMATION β manual QA is not part of our process.
β’ Weekly code deployments are essential: when a QA branch is ready, regressions are executed quickly, results are reported promptly, and the process keeps moving.
β’ Enjoy a startup atmosphere: 1-week sprints, embrace failure quickly, and advance continuously.
