QA Automation Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vietnam.

📋 Description

• Develop, update, and sustain automated testing scripts utilizing Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) for key UI and API scenarios.

• Contribute to the current automation framework by adhering to established patterns, naming conventions, and standards for code quality.

• Create clean, readable, and reusable test code, accompanied by basic documentation.

• Execute automated test suites and assess failures.

• Differentiate product defects from testing issues with assistance when required.

• Aid in achieving test coverage for new features, regression areas, and critical user journeys.

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA colleagues to clarify requirements and identify testing scenarios early.

• Conduct API validation for REST endpoints using Playwright, Postman, or comparable tools.

• Support continuous integration test execution in GitHub Actions or similar pipelines.

• Investigate unstable test runs and troubleshoot failed tests and basic environment issues utilizing logs, browser traces, and debugging tools.

• Engage in code reviews and incorporate feedback.

• Assist with manual and exploratory testing when necessary.

• Continuously enhance testing skills, product knowledge, and automation practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software testing with practical exposure to web or SaaS automation.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript for automated testing.

• Understanding of test case design, regression coverage, defect reporting, and risk-based testing.

• Basic knowledge of selectors, assertions, test data management, reusable functions, and test structure.

• Proficient in REST API testing using Playwright API testing, Postman, or similar tools.

• Basic familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflows like GitHub Actions.

• Ability to investigate test failures using logs, screenshots, traces, and developer tools.

• Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional product environment.

• Eagerness to learn from feedback and improve incrementally.

• Good English communication skills for professional interactions.

• Nice to have: Experience with Docker in local test execution or CI environments.

• Nice to have: Basic SQL knowledge and database data validation skills.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Datadog or CloudWatch.

• Nice to have: Understanding of performance testing concepts or tools like k6 or JMeter.

• Nice to have: Experience in testing eCommerce or SaaS platforms.

• Nice to have: Interest in AI-assisted testing tools and productivity workflows.
