QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish and enhance AI-centric QA automation methodologies within the project team.

• Utilize AI coding agents and AI-enhanced development platforms in the design, implementation, automated testing, debugging, troubleshooting, refactoring, code reviews, and technical documentation processes.

• Create reusable prompts, agent instructions, automation workflows, validation procedures, and safeguards to ensure consistent and responsible AI-driven software development.

• Develop, test, document, and sustain QA/QC systems for multiple products utilizing C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure technologies.

• Execute system test cases and automated product assessments.

• Establish and oversee cloud-based quality assurance laboratories.

• Contribute as an active member of an Agile Scrum team.

• Assist in delivering high-quality product releases with minimal defect rates by adhering to QA/QC best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of an undergraduate degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 3+ years of professional experience in commercial software development.

• Proven experience utilizing AI coding agents, AI-assisted development tools, or agentic automation workflows as a significant component of real software development projects.

• Advanced hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, or similar AI-powered development platforms.

• Capacity to leverage AI coding tools to enhance software design, implementation efficiency, code quality, automated testing, debugging, troubleshooting, refactoring, code review, or technical documentation.

• Experience in maintaining and expanding product QA/QC environments using mocking, automation, integration testing, and code coverage techniques.

• Familiarity with ad-hoc testing of applications on Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.

• Understanding of virtual machines, networking, and cloud environments.

• Proficiency in provisioning, configuring, and securing complex test environments in the cloud.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to assist in reproducing and diagnosing customer issues for the development team.

• Experience with Git and Azure DevOps within a team setting.

• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, and/or Teams.

• Nice to have: Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages.

• Nice to have: Experience with Selenium or similar test automation tools.

• Nice to have: Experience in developing and maintaining YAML CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or related systems.
