Mid-Level Backend Developer – Automation and Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Collect and evaluate automation and integration needs in collaboration with engineering, infrastructure, security, monitoring, and operations teams.

• Design, create, test, and maintain backend applications, services, APIs, libraries, and routines.

• Automate technical and operational workflows, minimizing manual tasks, recurring failures, and execution times.

• Develop integrations between internal systems, third-party platforms, and automation, management, and monitoring tools.

• Construct reusable, standardized components.

• Implement authentication, error handling, retries, access control, and traceability measures.

• Create and uphold unit and integration tests.

• Manage code versioning, prepare pull or merge requests, and engage in technical reviews.

• Design and sustain CI/CD pipelines for testing, validation, packaging, and deployment processes.

• Package and execute applications within containers to facilitate deployment and ongoing operations.

• Establish structured logs, metrics, traces, alerts, and observability features.

• Monitor solutions, investigate failures, and address root causes.

• Adhere to best practices in architecture, security, performance, documentation, and software development.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.

• Offer technical support to teams utilizing the solutions and provide guidance on their implementation.

• Identify opportunities for continuous enhancement in efficiency, scalability, reliability, and operational experience.

• Oversee the solutions' lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Experience in developing and managing backend applications, services, and automations, including API integrations, internal systems, and infrastructure and operations tools.

• Relevant professional experience suitable for a mid-level position.

• Proficiency in Python for developing services, libraries, and automation routines.

• Experience with Bash and familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript.

• Experience in developing, consuming, and integrating REST APIs, with an understanding of HTTP, authentication, pagination, webhooks, timeouts, retries, and failure management.

• Familiarity with Git, including branches, commits, pull or merge requests, conflict resolution, code review, and repository organization.

• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, basic data modeling, and technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalents.

• Understanding of JSON, YAML, and XML formats.

• Practical knowledge of Linux, covering command line usage, permissions, services, processes, logs, task scheduling, and troubleshooting.

• Experience with Docker and basic understanding of Kubernetes concepts.

• Capability to create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, diagrams, runbooks, operational procedures, and implementation records.

• Proficient in technical English for reading documentation, analyzing error messages, troubleshooting, and preparing basic technical texts.

• A graduate degree or specialization in a related field is advantageous.

• Familiarity with software engineering best practices, unit and integration testing, CI/CD, Ansible and/or Terraform, observability, security, OWASP Top 10, and networking is desirable and considered an asset.
