QA, 508, Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement both manual and automated testing strategies, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.

• Identify defects, document root cause indicators, and verify solutions.

• Assess accessibility compliance in accordance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

• Execute cross-browser, cross-device, and responsive user interface testing.

• Confirm API functionality, error handling, and interactions with backend services.

• Keep testing documentation updated, including test outcomes, traceability matrices, and defect logs.

• Work together with developers and product owners to enhance acceptance criteria and testing scenarios.

• Assist in updating the automation framework and contribute new automated test scripts.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, refinement, and reviews.

• Offer suggestions for enhancing test coverage, quality processes, and readiness for release.

• Collaborate with developers, system engineers, product teams, and accessibility experts to validate features prior to deployment.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Secret clearance, upheld by a Tier 3 background investigation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Quality Assurance, Testing, or a related technical discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in software testing, QA engineering, or related areas.

• Proven experience in executing both manual and automated tests.

• Familiarity with validating accessibility compliance (WCAG/508).

• Experience in testing web applications, APIs, and enterprise systems.

• Skilled in documenting defects, root cause indicators, and test outcomes.

• Strong grasp of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile testing practices.

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 / Section 508 accessibility testing.

• Proficiency with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).

• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).

• Required WCAG / Section 508 Accessibility Certification.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for documenting results.

• High attention to detail and dedication to quality.

• Capability to collaborate effectively across development, product, and engineering teams.

• Strong organizational skills for overseeing multiple test cycles concurrently.
