This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Maintain proactive communication with management concerning purchasing and inventory decisions

• Create performance reports for underperforming product lines and initiate plans for resolution

• Assess daily purchasing reports and prioritize purchase orders based on critical necessity

• Secure vendor confirmations, verify pricing and quantities, rectify vendor issues, attach confirmations to purchase orders, and manage confirmation records

• Execute purchase transactions for designated categories

• Manage the Back Order Queue and Expedite Queue while ensuring accurate ship dates

• Collaborate with vendors to obtain updated shipment information

• Analyze and resolve price discrepancies in partnership with accounting departments

• Utilize management insights to meet target freight levels and enhance profit margins

• Assess and oversee dead stock, no-calc, and aged inventory

• Manage inventory levels and fill rates for assigned categories

• Negotiate vendor pricing and seek optimal products/vendors for the best pricing

• Handle certain commodity purchasing under the general guidance of the Purchasing leader

• Offer general guidance or training to junior support or professional staff as necessary

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Must successfully complete pre-employment assessment(s) if required

• Typically requires a BS/BA in a related field

• Generally requires 2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is necessary in some areas OR an MS/MA and typically 2-4 years of experience in a related field

• Certification is necessary in certain areas

• Extensive procurement and inventory experience

• Experience with products

• Must be able to travel overnight less than 10% of the time
