This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead ElevenLabs' collaboration with Canadian governmental entities and officials regarding AI governance, safety, copyright, privacy, transparency, data protection, competition, and digital rights.

• Establish and nurture relationships with policymakers, regulators, industry associations, and civil society organizations.

• Monitor, evaluate, and provide guidance on emerging regulations that impact the company.

• Represent ElevenLabs at conferences and industry gatherings.

• Assist in the internal policy formulation alongside the Legal, Safety, Security, and other departments.

• Advise company leadership on local policy trends and their business implications.

• Encourage government integration of ElevenLabs products and services in collaboration with the GTM team.

• Define and execute policy campaigns and impact initiatives.

• Genuine passion for AI and emerging technologies.

• Current knowledge of AI regulations and industry developments.

• Capability to excel in a fast-paced startup setting and collaborate across functions.

• Proficient in working autonomously and managing ambiguity.

• Proactive and solution-focused mindset.

• Over 8 years of experience in policy roles within the public and private sectors, whether in-house or at a firm, with a concentration on AI and technology.

• Comprehensive understanding of Canada's regional AI policy environment, including aspects like AI governance, safety, copyright, privacy, transparency, data protection, competition, and digital rights.

• Proven track record in designing, advocating for, and influencing policy outcomes, as well as building coalitions.

• Experience in public policy throughout Canada.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, inclusive of briefing government officials and policymakers.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
