This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead, enhance, and expand the firm's Property practice.
• Take ownership and implement the strategic direction for the Property sector.
• Define the sector's value proposition, market positioning, and growth strategy.
• Establish underwriting focus, target industries, and property product offerings.
• Act as the internal expert on commercial property risks, CAT exposures, valuation challenges, and market trends.
• Develop strategies for large property schedules, shared and layered placements, and specialty property programs.
• Propel new business growth through strategic partnerships with retail brokers, carriers, and MGAs.
• Collaborate with brokers to identify, pursue, and finalize complex property placements.
• Support key accounts and opportunities exposed to large losses.
• Manage renewal production to meet retention and profitability goals.
• Monitor pipeline performance and vertical growth metrics.
• Cultivate and maintain executive-level relationships with property carriers and reinsurers.
• Negotiate capacity, pricing, coverage enhancements, and program structures.
• Broaden market access for catastrophe-exposed and challenging-to-place risks.
• Stay updated on CAT modeling, capacity shifts, valuation trends, and underwriting appetites.
• Train producers on property coverage structures, market conditions, and placement strategies.
• Create property-focused marketing tools and educational resources.
• Serve as an escalation point for large and complex submissions.
• Support the onboarding and development of producers within the Property practice.
• Partner with Operations, Marketing, and Leadership to grow the Property sector.
• Develop thought leadership, market updates, and client-facing resources.
• Enhance submission quality, workflows, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with carrier and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor property market conditions, CAT exposure trends, and emerging risks.
• Represent the firm at industry conferences, carrier meetings, and client events.
• Publish insights related to developments in the property insurance market.
• Report to the EVP, Head of Brokerage.
• Achieve revenue growth and profitability, expanded carrier relationships and capacity, complex placement growth, producer engagement, and broker retention and submission growth.
• 10+ years of experience in commercial property insurance, brokerage, underwriting, or wholesale distribution.
• Extensive expertise in large commercial property placements and market dynamics.
• Proven track record in developing relationships with carriers and brokers.
• Strong understanding of property underwriting, catastrophe modeling, and coverage structures.
• Demonstrated leadership and business development skills.
• Experience leading a property practice or business unit is preferred.
• Background in wholesale brokerage is preferred.
• Established relationships with property carriers are preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
