This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Conduct both virtual and in-person investigations at the homes of policyholders.
• Assess property damage, establish liability, evaluate the degree of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims handling software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess claims-related damage and prepare estimates in a paperless format.
• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents of theft, fraud, or arson to the relevant state and industry organizations.
• Carry out responsibilities independently, directly influencing management outcomes.
• Represent the company with professionalism during public engagements.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and various stakeholders.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders for claims resolution.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to safety and ergonomic standards.
• Travel away from home for CAT deployments as assigned.
• Undertake additional tasks as required.
• A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Exceptional customer service experience, ideally in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Comfortable using smartphones and applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• A valid driver's license is necessary.
• Must be bondable.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Capable of climbing ladders and working on rooftops multiple times a day.
• Must be willing to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training examinations.
• Ability to perform necessary physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
• Candidates must reside in the Greater Cape Girardeau, MO area.
• Willingness to commit to 1–3 CAT deployments annually.
• Must be prepared to travel away from home for CAT deployments, typically lasting 2–3 days.
