This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Manage property claims within the assigned level of authority utilizing independent judgment or discretion.

• Reach out to policyholders concerning property claims.

• Perform investigations, interview insured individuals and witnesses, assess damage, and prepare estimates.

• Analyze claims information and provide recommendations regarding coverage.

• Establish and uphold appropriate reserves.

• Collect and review reports, statements, records, and other relevant materials.

• Decide on claim payments and either issue checks or deny payment as necessary.

• Document claim files and submit final reports for closure.

• Identify subrogation opportunities and take appropriate action.

• Manage the assigned territory and bring all assigned claims to resolution.

• Collaborate with agents and district sales managers.

• Address claims involving property damage or coverage disputes, including those that may involve litigation.

• Negotiate with plaintiff attorneys or coordinate litigation with defense counsel as necessary.

• Develop and implement knowledge of property claims estimating practices and procedures.

• Attend industry-related training sessions focused on policy changes, interpretation, and legislation.

• Successfully finish Technical Learning Center Training within one year of hiring.

• Participate in the Catastrophe Team as needed.

• Complete a 15-week Property Adjuster Trainee program, which includes several weeks of classroom and hands-on training in Erie, Pennsylvania.

• Apply training to claims under the guidance of mentors and supervisors.


⛳️ Requirements

• Property Adjuster Trainee: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Property Adjuster I: A High School Diploma or GED and two years of claims handling experience or equivalent are required; alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED along with successful completion of ERIE-sponsored formal education, or a Bachelor’s Degree.

• Property Adjuster II: A High School Diploma or GED and five years of claims handling experience or equivalent are required; alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree and two years of claims handling experience or equivalent.

• The incumbent must reside in the assigned territory unless a change is authorized by the company.

• Ability to drive and travel regularly within the assigned territory is essential.

• Catastrophe duty may necessitate travel on short notice to different locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.

• A willingness to pursue and complete Technical Learning Center Training is required.

• Successful completion of AIC 33 and AIC 35 is preferred.

• A willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses is necessary.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.

• Ability to lift over 50 lbs using lifting aid equipment is necessary.

• Frequent driving, lifting/moving 0–20 lbs, lifting/moving 20–50 lbs, along with computer use and data entry skills are required.

• A Bachelor's degree is preferred for the Property Adjuster Trainee position.
