This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support a significant federal government contract emphasizing standards-based health-information technology and software delivery.
• Collaborate with the Program Manager, Product Owners, Task Leads, technical leads, developers, testers, and clients to plan, coordinate, and monitor software development activities.
• Oversee scope, team dynamics, scheduling, budget, quality, dependencies, risks, and release preparedness to meet project goals and milestones.
• Manage projects in accordance with industry best practices.
• Serve as an expert in task management and tracking.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, management, and team members.
• Identify risks and formulate mitigation strategies alongside the project team.
• Organize, direct, and coordinate the planning and production of contract delivery with support from the Task Lead.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, technical leads, developers, testers, architects, and client stakeholders to plan, track, and coordinate Agile software development efforts.
• Manage dependencies, resource allocations, blockers, risks, and competing priorities across various software development workstreams.
• Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• A minimum of nine years of experience overseeing mid- to large-scale projects.
• Experience managing government contracts for consulting services in Health IT/informatics, public health informatics, healthcare, or related technical fields.
• Proven track record in managing complex software development or engineering projects, ideally within an Agile framework.
• Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodology.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Background in public health, healthcare systems, and/or Health IT projects.
• Capacity to thrive in a challenging environment across multiple, diverse teams.
• Practical experience managing software development projects throughout the entire development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, release planning, deployment coordination, and production support.
• Experience working directly with Product Owners, developers, testers, architects, and other technical stakeholders.
• Proficient in tracking software delivery using Jira or similar Agile project management tools.
• If necessary for the project, ability to successfully complete and obtain a federal Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation, meet all eligibility criteria, and maintain the required clearance throughout employment.
• Preferred: Experience managing projects for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
• Preferred: Experience with CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
• Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Project and Excel.
• Preferred: Experience working in a remote, distributed environment.
• Preferred: Experience supporting Cloud-based, integrated, or API-driven software products.
• Preferred: Experience with healthcare interoperability, FHIR, or Health IT software development.
• Preferred: Current, completed federal Position of Public Trust background investigation.
• Preferred: Experience facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, sprint reviews, demos, and team retrospectives.
• Preferred: Experience coaching cross-functional, fully remote teams on Agile/Scrum best practices.
• Preferred: Certification as a Scrum Master (e.g., CSM, PSM).
