This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee and assist in the management of intricate infrastructure projects on behalf of clients.
• Direct client-side project management tasks across significant energy and infrastructure initiatives.
• Support projects from initial concept and feasibility stages through planning, consenting, development, and up to the Final Investment Decision (FID).
• Create and manage project timelines, deliverables, budgets, risks, and governance structures.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary workstreams encompassing planning, environmental, engineering, land, commercial, and stakeholder activities.
• Supervise external consultants, contractors, and technical experts.
• Identify project risks, dependencies, and critical interfaces, and initiate appropriate actions.
• Provide clear reporting, recommendations, and decision-making support to clients.
• Cultivate trusted relationships with client teams and project stakeholders.
• Oversee business development initiatives across the consultancy.
• Set business development priorities, actions, responsibilities, and follow-up mechanisms.
• Maintain an overview of the opportunity pipeline and ensure progression of opportunities.
• Identify target clients, projects, markets, and emerging opportunities.
• Coordinate account development efforts for both existing and potential clients.
• Develop and implement capture strategies for prioritized opportunities.
• Lead or assist in proposals, bids, presentations, and client meetings.
• Monitor pipeline activity, conversion rates, and other pertinent business development metrics.
• Recognize cross-selling opportunities and assist in shaping market positioning and pathways to market.
• Proven project manager with a solid understanding of the commercial aspects of working within a consultancy.
• Essential prior business development experience in a consultancy setting.
• Experience in project management within infrastructure, energy, the built environment, or a similar sector.
• Familiarity with operating in a professional services or consultancy context.
• Track record of contributing to and securing new consultancy work.
• Experience in building client relationships and recognizing commercial opportunities.
• Knowledge of the consultancy sales cycle from relationship building and opportunity identification to proposal submission and contract award.
• Experience in coordinating or contributing to bids, proposals, and client presentations.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities across project delivery and business development tasks.
• Commercial insight and understanding of project delivery, utilization, client development, and consultancy profitability.
• Confidence in engaging with senior clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to influence and coordinate colleagues without formal authority.
• Capability to work independently in a remote and highly autonomous setting.
• Relevant experience in environmental and EIA consultancy, planning and consenting consultancy, project management consultancy, energy and infrastructure development, or engineering and technical consultancy is particularly valuable.
• Experience in supporting nationally significant or major infrastructure projects would be a plus.
