Project Manager – BIM, Design Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee multiple active design projects concurrently, ensuring schedules, delivery dates, and outputs remain on track.

• Facilitate collaboration among distributed design teams, contractors, and clients, addressing coordination queries and clashes before they affect delivery timelines.

• Take ownership of and maintain drawing/model issue registers, guaranteeing accuracy and completeness prior to external dissemination.

• Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), variations, and changes in scope, constructing a clear evidence trail to support commercial positions when scope adjustments occur.

• Conduct coordination calls and design review meetings, keeping discussions on topic and ensuring that action items are duly followed up.

• Uphold CDE and document control workflows, including Asite, Aconex, and ACC, in compliance with ISO 19650 standards.

• Ensure programme trackers, resource logs, and timesheets are accurate for various live projects.

• Engage proactively with clients and stakeholders, identifying risks and scope issues at an early stage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager in construction, MEP, or BIM-coordinated design projects.

• Experience in managing distributed or remote design teams.

• Strong understanding of BIM coordination processes, issue logs, and design schedules.

• Proficient in managing CDEs and document control workflows; familiarity with ISO 19650 is preferred.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of directly managing client relationships.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple concurrent projects.

• Background in fire sprinkler design or the broader fire protection industry (preferred).

• Knowledge of fire protection standards and codes such as BS EN 12845, NFPA 13, or LPC Rules (preferred).

• Experience in coordinating fire sprinkler drawings, models, or hydraulic design packages within a BIM environment (preferred).
