Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Enhance customer satisfaction and project profitability by ensuring high-quality, timely, and budget-compliant project delivery.

• Supervise, direct, coordinate, and assess daily project operations.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement the contracted scope of work.

• Act as Peterson's representative on-site during equipment delivery, installation, and commissioning activities.

• Organize and lead meetings with subcontractors and customers/owners.

• Manage project documentation, permits, approvals, certified payroll, schedules, safety guidelines, and site access.

• Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to achieve customer objectives.

• Work alongside Sales to comprehend the scope of supply and expectations.

• Provide technical assistance and work/cost estimates to the Sales team.

• Coordinate project logistics, including equipment orders, packaging, shipping, and site services.

• Review contract documentation for compliance with specifications and commercial terms.

• Utilize project management software to set budgets, issue purchase orders, and track project finances.

• Select vendors and issue purchase orders accordingly.

• Organize material deliveries and production schedules, expediting shipping when necessary.

• Serve as the primary point of contact between Peterson and the customer.

• Participate in project meetings at customer sites, job locations, and Peterson offices.

• Ensure project quality control and coordinate labor, subcontractors, testing, inspections, shop tests, site tests, and training.

• Oversee assigned projects and provide guidance to field crews.

• Ensure compliance with final acceptance criteria and facilitate successful customer transitions.

• Maintain and supply customer documentation as needed.

• Support Sales in pre-sale meetings and project development initiatives.

• Assist service personnel during startup and commissioning phases.

• Monitor vendor performance and advocate for continuous improvement.

• Handle project invoicing, progress billing, and cost/profit forecasting.

• Ensure profitable project execution while enhancing processes and gross profit margins.

• Communicate with Caterpillar regarding technical and commercial matters.

• Document insights for continuous improvement in future projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Business or a closely related field.

• At least five (5) years of directly relevant experience in project management within the construction industry.

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

• Successful completion of a drug screening and background check is required.

• Willingness to travel away from the base location up to 50% of the time.

• Ability to operate a company or personal vehicle as required.

• Regular, punctual, and reliable attendance is essential.

• Strong communication, presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills are necessary.

• Ability to communicate effectively while remaining calm and courteous under pressure.
