Project Employee, Digital Content Publishing – NBA App

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Develop engaging narratives across various formats utilizing text, curation, and storytelling to enhance video, image, and graphic content.

• Quickly curate trending social, news, and media content related to the NBA.

• Create captivating news articles.

• Construct, publish, and organize vertical stories within the NBA App and NBA.com, focusing primarily on games and related content.

• Craft copy for vertical stories, video titles and descriptions, articles, and highlighted placements across NBA digital platforms.

• Adhere to a combination of AP and NBA style guidelines.

• Collaborate with team members on various assignments and take initiative on specific responsibilities when needed.

• Generate fan-focused content with the Social & Digital Content Team across digital channels.

• Utilize editorial insight, data, and an understanding of NBA fans to decide when, where, and how content should be scheduled.

• Partner with the Content Creation team to enhance video-centric experiences on connected devices and mobile for the NBA App.

• Segment, create, and distribute push notifications for NBA App users.

• Promote NBA League Pass and NBA ID campaigns throughout the season.

• Research and propose innovative content ideas.

• Actively engage in content planning.


⛳️ Requirements

• Ideally, experience with another sports or media brand, including collegiate digital and/or social channels.

• Extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for basketball and the NBA, including familiarity with players, coaches, and teams.

• Previous experience in journalism or a related discipline.

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and apply editorial judgment effectively.

• Excellent writing skills for headlines, push notifications, and text-based content.

• Prior experience publishing within a Content Management System.

• Experience with WordPress is preferred.

• Familiarity with Story Teller is preferred.

• Proven experience in creating and sending push notifications for the NBA App.

• Experience with Braze is preferred.

• Strong communication skills, particularly for remote work.

• Understanding of basketball analytics and the rules of the game.

• Openness to work on projects and provide innovative content solutions.

• Awareness of digital and social media trends.

• A Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
